Selphie Tilmitt Seed uniform – Final Fantasy 8

After redoing the classic Selphie costumes I had to do the Seed uniform, too! I made this costume in 2021. The skirt was fun to pattern and turned out really good. Everthing is fully lined. The silver patterns are hand drawn. The clip for the tie is made out of thick paper, the emblem simply printed out and glued on. Cheap but works!

I had so much fun taking the photos in our improvised living room ‘photo studio’ and hope I’ll find a good opportunity to wear the cosplay again.

Selphie Tilmitt Seed Cadet uniform – Final Fantasy 8

This was another fun project. The Seed cadet uniform was one of my very first costumes I made. In 2017 I remade it from scratch with better fabric and more attention to make it as acurate to the source material as possible

Styling the wig drove me crazy and it took me a few more years to get to a point were I was happy with the styling. The patterns on the shoulders are hand painted on. The silver bias tape was a pain to work with, I wish I had opted for better quality. One of my favourite part of the costume are the shoes straight from the early 2000s.

Selphie Tilmitt – Final Fantasy 8

In 2021 remade one of my very first costumes I made back in 2004: Selphie Tilmitt. I tried my best to make it as acurate as possible. It really helped that I found this nice jeans fabric which looks great and was nice to work with. Every stripe of the dress is a seperate part, so while it the dress looks quite simple it took quite some work. The necklace is made from worbla and the the zipper piece EVA foam.

The hardest parts for me was the wig as I avoided wig styling for the like first 20 or so years of me cosplaying…

I’m so happy I was able to make this costume again after so many years and see that I managed to improve my skills and do justice to one of my favourite characters!

Therion Dancer Job – Octopath Traveler

I jist love Octopath Traveler and my boy Therion so I just had to make another another costume.

I made this in the sommer of 2021 and it was so much fun to make. The violet fabric is left over I had had for many, many years. The sleeves and beld thingie I made of an old scarf that already had a hole in it. The gold trim is legit over 40 years old…I even made the flip-flops out of EVA foam. Not only did I spent next to zero euro on the costume it is also incredibly comfy.

Therion – Octopath Traveler

I love love love Octopath Traveler so much. It was so much fun to play and I loved all the characters it’s hard to pick a favourite. I started my playthrough with Therion because… you know… white hair, tragic past, trust issues, sarcasm. I just couldn’t resist.

The cosplay was really fun to make: Comfy pants, the poncho. I also loved to make the accessories like the bag, bracelet and dagger.

I’m quite sad that 2020 just isn’t the year for cosplay groups and shootings. I’d love to an outdoor shooting, or a shooting in an old town or a tavern.

Celes Chere – Final Fantasy VI

Final Fantasy 6 is one of my all time favourite games. With all the awesome characters and designs it’s really hard to chose a favourite. Celes was on my wishlist for a while and I finally wanted to take the challenge to make the pants. I found some really nice jeanslike fabric, that sadly didn’t have any stretch, so the fit was really hard to do right. The vest was easy to do and the top is an old shirt of mine that I altered. The details on the arm cuffs are hand stitched on. The belt buckle and hairpiece is made from foam. The wig isn’t the best and I hope to upgrade it in the future.

Relm Arrowny – Final Fantasy VI

FF6 is one of my alltime favourite games. It has such a great cast of characters that I ended up cosplaying 5 characters from it over a span of nearly 20 years (half of these cotumes we don’t want to speak of again :p). Relms design is so cute and fun and I love the beige-black color scheme of one of Yoshitaka Amanos illustration of her. Somehow it took many years between starting and finishing the costume. I’m glad I did and I was really happy to have a proper shoot. Thomas did take such lovely photos!

Nanami – Suikoden II

Suikoden II is one of the best JRPGs ever. The soundtrack still makes me tear up. I made the costumes many years ago. It was easy to make and is super comfy. Since I missed wearing it we did a small shooting in a forest this year and got a few nice shots.

Fallout – Vault Suit

Both the suit and the Pip boy were a real challenge. The Pip boy is made from foam and trash, it basically cost me next to nothing. I used to always skip prop making in the past, so it was the first complex prop I ever built. It’s never too late to start!
